Marie Hatem is a Full Professor at the School of Public Health-Université de Montréal (UdeM). Certified Nurse-Midwife (Lebanon), she holds a MSc. Health Administration and a PhD. Public Health (UdeM). Through her career, her research interests have covered human health resources’ (HHR) education and practice systems in the reproductive health domain (empowering girls/adolescents-SSD). She is dedicated to the cause of women’s health and healthcare as a basic human right. Under her leadership, Hygeia network was created to develop multidisciplinary HHR programs and institutes in francophone countries. She applies her knowledge in the management of HHR to render available, accessible and acceptable, qualified HHR to accompany women and their families at every stage of their lives. Her activities include assessing HHR situation, reviewing their training program, providing continuing education, and supporting/advocating the reinforcing of their role. Her experience covers Benin, Burkina Faso, DRCongo, Djibouti, Guinea, Haïti, Iraq, Ivory-Coast, Lebanon, Morocco, Senegal, Togo.
