Participants' experiences over the years
“This internship
has been a life-altering
experience, both professionally and
personally. Thank you CSIH and the
government of
Canada.” -Rahel Getachew (NetCorps
participant 2005-2006, African Union/International Organization for
Migration, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia)
"Through the Netcorps program I was able to explore part of the balance
required while introducing Information Technology in a professional
organization in Ethiopia . It has been a wonderful experience, which I
would not trade for any textbook on Development!" -Moneeza Walji (NetCorps
participant 2005-2006, Ethiopian Nurses Association, Ethiopia)
"I do have to say that I really believe my internship in the Dominican Republic did in fact make me more employable. Responses to my applications have been significantly larger after the internship than before and I can now even be selective in the positions I take (more or less!). The responsibilities that the organization (Smiles) gave me were far greater than any entry-level position here in Canada and I think that really made a significant difference in the opportunities I have received." -Matt Deacon (NetCorps participant 2004-2005, Smiles Foundation, Dominican Republic)
