Eligibility
To be eligible
for
CIDA funded placements,
candidates must
:
- Be a citizen or
permanent resident of Canada between 19 and 30 years of age.
- Be
unemployed or underemployed prior to the internship.
- Be
available for 6 to 9 consecutive months.

Be in good health and undertake
to obtain appropriate immunizations and arrange for travel / health /
life insurance, as well as arranging travel to the host country
and satisfying all visa requirements.
- Have the
appropriate education, training or expertise (see internships listings
for specific criteria) and have completed a post-secondary degree or
diploma.
- Demonstrate
an interest in international issues and openness to different cultures
and situations.

Not have previously participated in a Career Focus
placement of the Youth Employment
Strategy program (YES).
To be eligible
for placements under the NetCorps Canada International
Program and placements by Health Canada,
candidates must
:

Be prepared to engage in
awareness-raising activities on return to Canada.
*Exceptions may be made to the
age requirement depending on circumstances.
