Staff Education on HIV/AIDS

In the Spring of 2005, the Public Health Strengthening in Guyana Project was pleased to offer training in clinical and social aspects of HIV/AIDS for non-clinical individuals who are working in and NGO setting.

Participants learned, among other things: the state of current knowledge about HIV/AIDS, a medical overview of the epidemic in Guyana, aspects of stigma and discrimination, the law, the role of home-based care, the Project's new nursing guidelines and its programme for training trainers in community care.
