CSIH is pleased to announce that the World Hepatitis Day Art Contest.
CSIH has organized the contest for federal inmates across Canada in partnership with Correctional Service Canada (CSC) and support from Gilead Sciences Canada. The objectives of the contest are to increases awareness about hepatitis and encourage inmates to learn their hepatitis status by getting tested. Hepatitis treatment is available in federal correctional institutions across Canada. However, the problem remains that people are unaware of their positive hepatitis status.
This year, the theme is “Finding the Missing Millions: Breaking barriers to diagnosis”, which reflects the global strategic plan to eliminate hepatitis for 2018-2020. This activity will contribute to increase in diagnoses, resulting in more linkages to care for this population. These actions bring Canada one step closer to meeting its commitment to eliminate viral hepatitis by 2030.
