Internship Profile/Qualifications:
Project Summary:
To strengthen the capacity of AMREF in Tanzania to document good practices, conduct quality operations researches, produce publications and conduct policy analysis using existing project profile that shall inform policy and practice in Tanzanian health system contributing to improved survival, health and well-being of children, youth and women and reduced inequalities across geographic, income, age, gender and other groups, in accordance with the national government’s National Strategy for Growth and Reduction of Poverty. AMREF Tanzania’s work includes: encouraging people to get themselves tested for HIV through the “Angaza Zaidi” project and reducing the stigma attached to the disease; empowering women to recognize their reproductive health rights and be able to openly discuss the issues with their spouses; and raising awareness of sexual health issues among young people. Interns will build AMREF Tanzania’s capacity in Information Communications Technology (ICT), research and analysis, policy development, monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and improve mechanisms for sharing information effectively.
