Internship Profile/Qualifications:
University Degree in Development;
Monitoring and Evaluation Expertise;

Public speaking and group facilitation experience;
Knowledge of African health development issues.
Project Summary:
To strengthen the capacity of AMREF Ethiopia to implement and evaluate projects that are responsive to community health needs and redress the disproportionate burden of disease affecting vulnerable communities. AMREF Ethiopia’s work includes: training health workers among the nomadic pastoralist groups in South Omo and providing mobile health clinics along migratory routes; training specialist health workers in hospitals around the country; reducing malaria in the remote region of Afar through the distribution of mosquito nets at the household level; and reducing water borne diseases through the provision of clean water, showers and toilets. The interns will contribute to AMREF Ethiopia’s capacity to report on projects, evaluate their impacts and share information, strengthening AMREF’s capacity to implement sustainable, community-driven health development initiatives.
