Internship Profile/Qualifications:
Project Summary:
To strengthen health systems in the Commonwealth of Dominica by: 1) improving the Health Information Systems (HIS) of the Ministry of Health (MoH) to enable better clinical and administrative decision-making; and 2) strengthening human resources and the organizational structure of the MoH. The interns will work working closely with the National Epidemiologist and other staff members of the Health Information Unit on:
the refinement and implementation of plans for strengthening information systems in the Ministry;
assistance to the Permanent Secretary and her staff to finalize the Ministry’s strategic plan for health to include organizational changes geared towards greater integration and efficiency of human resources, especially for the HIV and AIDS programme;
work with the Hospital Quality Control Coordinator and the Hospital Services Coordinator to review/develop and implement Quality Assurance programs for the main hospital on Dominica – the Princess Margaret Hospital.
